Hi Bobby, welcome to the forum, lovely camera the MX especially the black ones I still have a couple of silver MX's. Some of the K series primes are highly regarded, K 28/3.5, K 85/1.8, K135/2.5 would be a good start assuming you already have a 50mm lens on the MX.

Congratulation on your new purchase, now the three of us can have a K5 owners club meet and a good chin wag over a brew (come on JW you are the odd one out now:wink.
Sticking with the K20D for now, it serves me well, let's see what happens in the next couple of months under Ricoh management. If they go EVF and smaller I'm off to Nikon but will still keep my present kit.

I'd like to see the following:

1. DA*500/4
2. SDM 1.4x rear converter.
3. More sophisticated AF system.
4. A multiplier for SR with 4 settings 1.4, 1.5, 1.7 and 2x for rear converter use if there's no SDM converter
5. Keep it to 16MP APS-c but improve DR, AF etc.
5. If they go FF 36MP (Max) + 1-4 above.

Congratulations on the purchase Howard I hope it brings you many hours of pleasure, looking forward to seeing some photos on here

As Hyram said, any of these...

Failing that, a K18 or K85 would be nice...

A very nice set Cliff, there's a big change from the weather we had this time last year, no complaints here.

That's a lovely set Stuey, taken in less than ideal conditions.

Great lens, I have both AF and manual versions myself and love the results especially the 1:4 close-up facility offered. I've heard it mentioned that the foucus helicoid wears out on the AF versions, it always did sound a little scratchy even from new, I've kept the manual version as a backup purely because I'd hate to be without this fine lens.

My personal experience from working with people using other brands and getting the chance to use them occasionally myself suggest that the Nikons have a slight edge when it comes to AF. The Canons fare about the same as my K-5. This, of course, is purely my personal impression.
I have a similar experience from work and would concur with your findings. Many of my colleagues use Nikon (1 Canon). I get to use a Nikon D3 on a regular basis, the owner now using a Leica M9. The D3 has a slight edge on my K20D AF wise but not enough to bother me, the latest addition to the "Nikon club" as I refer to them is a D7000, I've not a had chance to use it much but the AF system does appear far more sophisticated, whether this will be borne out with better results remains to be seen.

How dark is 0.5 EV? Are we talking 'too dark to be able to walk around without bumping into things'? Dimmish room in the evening?
Subdued lighting in a living room, restaurant, dimmly lit kitchen, many live performances where you either can't use flash or don't want to, inside a dimmly lit church.
