Fair play to Pentax for sticking with 16mp - I dont want larger file sizes and a buffer filling up twice as fast where the upside is higher resolution I don't really need (how many actually do NEED more than 16mp?).
At 16mp the limiting factor is the lens resolution, you would need a bigger sensor than APSc for 24mp, hence Pentax have rightly stayed with 16mp so have Nikon as far as I know with the D7000.

My partner has had her bag stolen from a train while visiting France, the bag contained the following photographic equipment:

PENTAX *istD Digital SLR Serial #: 5764711
SMC PENTAX-DA 1:3.5 18mm ~ 1:5.6 55mm AL II Serial #: 6258399
TAMRON AF 70-300mm 1:4-5.6 Di LD Macro Serial #: 047516

Any help with recovering the items much appreciated.

Kind regards,

John

For wildlife work a bag with the the 100macro, 300 and the f1.7 gives a lot of coverage.
I'd agree here, I generally carry a Tamron Di 90/2.8, Pentax DA*300/4 with Tamron-F AF1.4x Pz-AF MC4 and Teleplus 1.5x Pz-AF SHQ, Teleplus Pz-AF 1.7x SHQ allowing various set-ups. All the TC's work well with the Tamron Di 90 Macro.

The "FA" is reputedly better, I've never tried the "F" though, so cannot comment on performance from experience.

The "FA" is a completely different optical design to the "F"
