Some editing programs don't keep the EXIF data and some processes don't. An example is Photomatix.

The ability to report the EXIF data on this site was revamped a while ago, especially the correct reporting of lenses used. When posting the lens used will be picked up, but if not then it can be added by the user. It's usually enough to enter something like, say, 18-135mm and then a list of possibilities will be given to choose from.

I might be inclined to leave the ISO at 1000, maybe 800, but over-exposure is the ultimate sin with slide films, so a slightly darker end result wouldn't be the end of the world.

Very fast slide films could be quite grainy, but it's worth a go just for interest.

Although everybody understands what the items are, photography does have terms that have accurate meanings and Wilkinsons have it wrong I'm afraid.

Close up lenses are often sold as sets, there are also zoom close up lenses, but they bend light and are definitely lenses. Like many (but not all) filters they screw into the filter thread of a camera lens.

Many thanks Paul for meeting up at Bent's garden Centre! Great to meet you in person and thanks also for the fine lens.

I'm looking forward to having one of these again. i did have one that I found a bit superfluous on APS-C but now we have full frame it's come into its own again.

Yes please and let's meet up somewhere near Manchester. If you PM me your location we can opt to call around or meet as preferred. £160 is fine.

I'm remembering from stuff I haven't looked at for a very long time, but it depends I think on which version of the Pentax 6x7 you have. I have a feeling that the setting of speed before or after winding the shutter might be critical in early models and it could be easy to upset the shutter mechanism. Do you have the instruction book? If not, then Oldtimer Cameras probably do and a copy might answer your questions.

If it's not working though, ultimately a service may well be required. These are very large focal plane shutters and they do need some servicing at regular intervals.

This Oop North is west of the Pennines, and it's hot but not humid. Still, we have a house full of Granddaughters at the moment, so rain or shine we are at their disposal!
