I'm not completely clear why one of them had to go, but I suppose photographically we have all been told we need to shoot things in threes, or fives, or sevens, and so on. Clearly with 4 camera bodies you needed to make that an odd number, so the elegant solution was to buy another one?

FA-J lenses were the first to have no aperture rings, so maybe a redesign of the Limited lenses to remove the aperture rings and add WR?

Sometimes the rear filter is actually part of the optical formula and might be necessary. Obviously it can be changed for a coloured filter, but some filter may need to be there.

I doubt that there was a single film image in the book. We do have some film users, but they are not in this time around.

We do have a few more Pentax users who are also not in this time, but it seems that Pentax can hold their head up high. Fuji also do well considering their smaller user base. Sony are very under represented, maybe because of price.

I've just finished the ADAPS Year Book:
Comment Image

The breakdown of cameras used was interesting:

Canon 28%
Nikon 27%
Mobile phones 15%
Pentax 14%
Fujifilm 10%
Sony 3%
Panasonic 2%

On the face of it, that leaves Pentax and Fuji looking pretty good.

This was my first Pentax DSLR, so I wouldn't mind taking this as a sentimental ornament.

My sister-in-law Diane wouldn't class herself as a skilled photographer, although she's much better than she thinks she is. She showed me a whole mass of birds in flight she shot last month using the K-3 and eith a Tamron 70-300mm or the Pentax 150-450mm and she nailed the focus is virtually every one. It was impressive.

As for Pentax AF, I haven't found any slowness or problems since the K-5. The camera will also pick up fine fronds of grasses and birds amongst branches much more reliably than most cameras I use.
