Looking at the EXIF on Flikr, my feeling is that the image needs to be calibrated sRGB (at the moment it is uncalibrated), ISO 100 (now 250), sharpness/saturation/contrast looked at, and centre focus point only used. Then ideally a brightly lit subject that tapers distance wise, such as perhaps a diagonal row of cans. A fast lens wide open would be ideal. Then the exact point of focus could be determined.

Looked at on Flikr though the car number plates are sharper.

The GR section of the stand was very busy when we were there. The Pentax 17 was also being demonstrated and was prominently displayed on the Pentax part of the stand. The KF and K-1 II were also on display, but not really part of any great push.

Welcome indeed, glad that you have discovered the fine qualities of Pentax!

That's great news!

It's time to start looking at some more vintage reviews. Several members have kindly loaded lenses of interst to enable some past reviews, so if anyone has anything of interest please let me know, either here or in a PM if you prefer.

I am particularly interested in the K and M series lenses, and the 50mm f/1.2 would be a great start if anybody has one?

I can cover the cost of shipping and lenses are fully insured whilst in my possession.

Many thanks!

A gorgeous set of fine images, many thanks for sharing!

And it's only 2026...but it is also only a day or two before the Curves competition ends. So just a reminder, if you can find a minute to post an entry it will bolster up the numbers a bit!

Thanks and Good Luck!

Have a great 2026 everyone, and for K10D have a great day in Whitby!

Sadly no Pentax 17, but there was the compensation of a Pentax WG-8.
