The interesting bit is, "the camera shop I took it to." Most often we see complaints about the official repairers (John Pye auctions) taking an eternity and not replying to messages - I don't doubt they are under staffed and over worked. It is still worrying. So tell us more.

The camera shop is in Stafford and wanted to send it to a camera repairer in Newcastle-under-Lyme but I had already tried them and they said to try John Pye. I told the camera shop this so they sent it to John Pye, hence the long time.
By the way, John Pye is in Uttoxeter and if I had kniwn that at the time, I probably gone straight there.
