And that was for the M42 SMC Takumar 135 my Dad bought new and got the hood for, but not for the other lenses he got at the same time? Or that the M, K and A lenses I have purchased over the last few years have not included hoods? While all modern Pentax lenses have?

Is there a difference between film and digital? I like lens hoods. It is a major annoyance my choice of M43 sees fit not to provide them with their lenses. But am interested if there is a reason lens hoods seem less prevalent with the older lenses when I am assured that they really improve the performance of said lenses?

Also aesthetically, lenses do not seem complete without hoods. But that might just be me with my independent photography having started with digital Dslr....

No. 1 makes me think of Smeggypants' profile picture! I really like these. Character, and seem to pull something about the people.

There is still something about film well handled isn't there? Did you develop yourself? If not who did you use for development? How did you scan?

Don't know if the sensor/ optics are sort of near the slide entry point, but it might be worth trying a rocket blower into the opening? (ie one with the filter for air intake so you don't simply blow more muck onto the sensor)
There is the light at the bottom but most of the internals are space! Te optics are near the top and unreachable from the slide entry point.

Getting a quote for the work. Google translate has produced gibberish so have to wait for my wife to translate it.

I was under the impression Pentax has never said anything about whether the motors were upgraded or not? The general feel I've gotten from the web is that of general indifference to the problem from Pentax?

If working it would probably be used pretty much all the time, and it was by me when it was............

Yep, didn't bother for this one. Have since adjusted them all in Lightroom. I have tried to dismantle it but a lack of screws visible after the removal of the bottom plate suggests that there is glue and clips none of which can be seen. So, I think to clean the internals would require actually breaking the scanner so that would appear to be it really.

Have a contact for a scanning lab with Noritsu and Nikon so will decide if any of these latest are worth the better scan. Will have a think about how to proceed, whether replace my scanner or just use a lab for the next wee while.

Hello,

Got my developed films back and everything seems good with them (at least they are in focus this time!). However the Veho film scanner has an odd "blotch" showing up that I am sure is on the sensor. It wasn't there last time I used it and it has been stored in in its box since. Got all the the way from the UK to Budapest without showing any dirt etc so am not sure what it is. An example:

I can't see if this is dust or something wrong on the actual sensor. If dust there doesn't appear any easy way to actually get in to clean it. So, is it just knackered? These aren't enormously expensive and have I run up against the awful consumer electronics fail wall?

Pentax K200 with 18-55mm kit lens.

Taken a couple of years ago, thought I was pushing the camera a little bit but came out with something interesting. Quite impressive for the old K200. All c and c welcome! I think this was 2010 or so.

With comparison to the Super A lightmeter (this has had a Harrow Technical CLA in the last few years so should be ok) the Spotmatic F gave similar results. Well as close as can be expected really.

Quite pleased as both cameras are really nice to use and hope the results turn out ok!
