I found two old developing tanks in the local market (didn't realise at first until I recognised one of the boxes as the same as one my Dad had)and got them both for £4.

The first is in a red box labelled "Paterson 35 model II" and the other is in a black box labelled "The Paterson 35 Devloping Tank Self loading Spiral"

The packaging looks very 60's in style and wondering if they would still be good to use as they look complete? Is there anything in particular I need to check? Does anyone use anything of this ilk?

Have the joy of needing to clear out a battery compartment where the batteries have been left in for a long time and have corroded. With the result of mess everywhere.....

Wondering if it's possible to get them back into a working condition and if there are any good tips and tricks to ease the process....... I think it is worth repairing the flash as it is one thing I don't have!

I got carried away and have won an MZ7 with the 35-80 mm kit lens and a Pentax AF400 ftz flash.................

I presume this flash is ok and can be used on my Super A as well? Might be possible to use it on the K200D in manual mode too....

This forum is expensive!!

AFAIK they're the same lens, Pentax simply updated the outer casing. Mine's the black one. It's soft and doesn't reproduce colours particularly well.

You can use other modes with that F 35-70mm on older film bodies, just press the button on the aperture ring and turn it. The lens will then operate like an M series.
I suppose using a spare 18-55 at the 24mm plus end would work ok as a stop gap measure. Sometimes my eyes get sore from lack of sleep and autofocus is so useful (I have a Nikon F70 but would like to be able to use a Pentax for Ektar etc)

Just avoid the 35-80mm lens often sold with the MZ-50 as it's pretty dire. It looks promising enough (compact, fairly long lens) but it can't match the earlier 35-70mm for image quality.
Would this be the silver FA lens? So the F lens (usually in black) 35-80mm is a better bet?

I would have assumed that it wouldn't work but kind of hoped...... Anyway what is reasonable prices for the MZ series? What about the Z or SFX etc?

the 18-55mm is considered a "super wide angle fish eye style lens with special vignetting feature"

Is it possible to use the modern DA 18-55mm kit lens on the MZ/M series? I'd like a Pentax autofocus film camera at some point......

The Fed 2 is great, because of my glasses I sometimes have a little difficulty judging the focus but that's just practice I think....! Must use it more, going to try it with B+W soon I think.

I might take the Spotty as well, just decide on the day which one to take, Ektar in the Super A and 400H in the Program A.

Budapest and it's surrounds are lovely and I could rattle through a 36 exp film easily on just one day!!!!
