Can you explain - (fixed-rate VAT rules...),

oh, its a complicated quirk of my business's VAT registration (special rules you can choose if you have a turnover under £150k) - basically, I can't reclaim the VAT on anything I buy...unless it costs more than £2000 (ex-vat). When VAT goes up to 20% its going to be increasingly significant.

Flossie's VAT position is indeed quirky. If you are 'normally' registered, you can claim VAT back on a 50p Biro, there is no £2000 lower limit.

Colin - never heard of them before and I do troll the used sites. Strange collection of items - could be qute useful. Saw they had a 1.4 TC, but sold.

I'm looking for a good prime in the 28-35 mm range and a wr version of this lens would be a no brainer for me...

Well a bit off subject, but I saw a Tamron 28mm 1:1.8 MF in a secondhand shop this weekend. Wonder if I should have bought it (Any one know of it)?

All this raises a point which I was going to bring up. If the Mods don't mind - why can't a pdf be created 'Idiots Guide to the Forum' which could automatically be sent to new members when they join
