fact of the matter is, this is a commercial thread you you even commented on, the day after it was started and decided not to do ANYTHING about
Gareth - sorry if I get into your bad books - but I think anything like this (maybe a commercial 'plug', which does help members to get a good deal), is an exception. Someone today was looking for a bit of kit which I thought I saw on a comercial site. I couldn't find it, but if I had I would surely have posted it.

Relax

Hi Algi
Thanks for that - I have saved the link to read later. Funny what these 4/3rds guys get up to - I have seen a lot of interesting stuff on their sites.

I don't know if you realize it or not, but the Tamron 500mm mirror was designed to have the Tamron UV filter in front of it. There is a test somewhere on the web and the resolution was actually higher with the filter. The only problem is the filters are very rare.
Was that in addition to the rear filters?:

I've used with the Pentax 1.7x on an f8 500mm mirror lens for some moon shots and autofocus still works! Obviously the moon is an extremely high contrast object, so I'm sure it wouldn't work on a more 'normal' subject.
What sort of results did you get - was it a Tammy 500?

Matt I need to think about this, if ever I get a TC from Japan - how much was the parcelforce cost:
You can probably add on around 25/30% for all the charges.
Thanks MP

One comment on that 50mm f1.4 from Canada - expect to be stung by Customs & Excise or whatever Her Majesty's Highwaymen are calling themselves this week.

It isn't the duty/VAT that stings so much as the outrageous "admin fee" imposed by Parcelfarce to collect it.

Two second timer and the five frame autobracket is my favourite mess-up.
Its quite a good one where you have the camera set for bracketing and then you pop the flash up, take a shot and have to look like you know what's happening as it carries on flashing merrily away. Not that I've ever done it, ahem.
Oh yes. Done that with the 540FGZ - forgot was on bracket - take shot - move camera away from subject - flash the floor, the sky, up someones nose.......
