Thanks Nigel, looks like I will be saving the extra coin towards another lens then , just once I have convinced myself I will not shoot RAW in the future as I don't really intend on buying another body after this next one(barring breakage etc), been intresting fol;lowing you through this, top banana for going through this something I couldn't see myself doing, wife nipping in ear and then falling asleep while trying to get my head around some of the PP work.

I have recently used some of the (3M? i think) and it is the velcro style that locks to itself no hook and cloth side, left the self adhesive for 15 minutes after applying and it was extremely solid even in temps exceeding 40 celcius (holding a 4'x3' magnetic white board). Only downside it was in a large roll not smaller packs so price maybe a touch high, especially as they sourced from RS

Thanks for the input, I will have another play now I can see what can be brought out, as my attempts were killing the shot.

Thanks for the input, have decided will get the 18-135 when I upgrade the camera, as for now succumbed to the 17-70, even with the 55-300 the shots of the family mainly under 90mm range (that took along time to go throught the exif, there must be an easier way to hunt this info)

If more and more cameras with this sensor are now coming minus the AA filter layer surely the extra cost attributed to smaller runs is pretty much negated?

Previously like when Nikon have done it aye understandable.

Thanks, I have been thinking of getting it really for snapshots when paddling about with the family, as invariably have either on one isn't long enough the other not short enough, but to make my dilemma a bit worse now they have just received a pentax 17-70 in which I have been after for a wee while now.

I just cannot decide as the 55-300 has given me some crackers when out with the bairns and I haven't really had a chance to stretch its legs out on the fells yet, but the large super-zoom range does have its draw.

I never mentioned earlier and maybe should have, I do have a 90mm Tamron, for macro mainly, the 35mm f/2.4 and a couple other manual lens

Living in Brampton, Cumbria at the minute, don't think we'll leave Cumbria for a while anyway, it is a nice feeling hitting a maximum
