This is not a Lead to a Deal in the acceptance sense of the phrase (bargain offer from a particular source), but an official Pentax promotion that runs for 2.5 months, which is probably why John has left it where it was posted.

Well the website is awash in Pentax and Chris H. has a lot invested in Pentax, not forgetting SRS as the official partner.

Why not PM Chris and ask about the apparent change in advertising policy :

............However, if we have ever used manual focus lenses maybe we can look to our archives as there is no time limit on when the images were shot.
That is true - perhaps it is time to get the scanner out again.

Unfortunately the competition also excludes the use of all compact and bridge cameras, since by definition, they are autofocus

I would think that most members would not have a manual focus lens and if they do have one, most likely they will have to specifically take the shot in the next 5 (wet in the UK) days.

So that counts me out

Likely to be a record low entry

Sadly it is likely to end up with a collector or someone hoping to turn a profit on it, rather than with a user

Hi Hyram, I am the vendor of the lens and have absolutely no problem selling to genuine bidders with no past feedback but there are so many scammers on eBay or dreamers who bid on an auction and are never heard from again that it is always prudent to ask for contact first, especially with higher value items. A bidder with little feedback who is prepared to contact you and express his genuine intentions is more than likely going to honour his / her bid.

What I mean is that the vendor seems wary of prospective buyers who have no feedback.

I have only ever bid on one lens and dropped out when it went for silly money right at the end of bidding.

i have bought directly from Forum Members and would do so again.
