Does anyone know where I can purchase a 'modelscope' (optical system for eye level photography of models of buildings etc.) that will work with a K10D ? They were relatively common many years ago but now seem to have disappeared.

Firmware version 1.11 now safely installed It appears to be quite complicated but in fact is straightforward if you follow the instructions precisely. This is also true of the camera itself.

Thanks Matt. I shall go ahead with the 1.11 version.

Having not yet got around to downloading the 1.10 Firmware update, presumably I can go straight to the 1.11 version and this will contain everything from both versions ?

I have recently bought a 19" LG LCD monitor which comes with forteManager software. This software programme is extremely versatile and allows you to have any number of customised presets, depending on who is using the monitor or what you are using it for.

Hi,

I'm also looking at a Kata bag for my K10D as a compact substitute for the O-CC55. I need it to fit the K10D plus grip and (hopefully sometime when they get around to producing some more...) a DA* 16-50 lens.

I only really need it to replace the plastic bag I currently use to protect it...so was looking at the H-10, H-12 or H-14.

Since I can't currently find anywhere local to try one out, do you think this lot will fit in the H-10, or will the addition of the grip make it a bit too wide to fit in comfortably?

Andy.
Andy,

The photograph below shows my K10D in a Kata H-10.

The photograph was taken with the kit lens attached to the body (prior to the arrival of the DA* lenses).

However the K10D does fit in the case with my DA* 16-50 lens attached, complete with the lens hood on (reversed).

There is no spare space with this combination, but the H-12 and H-14 are of course bigger.

The Kata website is not too bad, but I agree that it would be better to be able to see all three cases 'in the flesh'.

Kata KT H-10 case has now arrived. It is a very good fit for the K10D.

Thanks for the information. I also had a look at the other thread about cases and after a lot of research on the internet, I have ordered a Kata KT H-10. They appear to be very tough on the outside and very soft on the inside.

Can anyone recommend the best compact camera case to accomodate just a K10D body + (hopefully if the price is right) a DA* 16-50 lens :

The official Pentax case (O-CC55) appears to only exist in Japan and Australia.

I don't have a 16 - 45 or any other digital lenses at the moment, only numerous Pentax lenses bought originally for a Super A and an ME Super. But I am planning to purchase the DA* 16 - 50 (particularly now that the price has been confirmed by Chris at SRS) as my first digital lens.
