Where to buy a K10D ?

Hi Folks,

A quick question from a newbie....

After 25 years + of 35mm photography, I've decided to join the digital age and splash out on a K10D. However, do you have any recommendations about who to buy from ?

Looking around the best prices (including the 18 - 55mm kit lens) appear to be at Park Cameras, Calumet and Jacob's - Park are a bit cheaper but Calumet & Jacob's both have shops in Nottingham so I can go in and hassle if required !!

Whilst I'm here, are there any good books on Digital photography and the differences to 35mm that you'd recommend ?

Chris @ SRS has very competitive prices and is extremely helpful.

The big trouble with going digital is that you take on the process of capturing, developing, artistic control and printing. It's quite a lot to master

One main thing to bear in mind - digital is much like slide film in terms of exposure - but there's a lot you can do after the capture. Best thing is, once you get hold of the K10D, to slam through a few hundred shots and just get the feel of it all.

There's plenty of guides out there on the 'net, and there's many suggestions here on this forum

Absolutely 100%. Chris is excellent - I'm looking to pick up a K10D (possibly in next couple of weeks) and I'm not even going to look around elsewhere - you *might* beat the price importing from Hong Kong (which isn't a bad thing per se) but you won't beat the service that way.

Last camera bought from Chris (last minute birthday present a lad at work needed) was ordered at 3pm on a friday and was in his hands by lunchtime on the sat - and at a very reasonable price.

Thanks - it appears to be a unanimous recommendation for Chris at SRS - I'll give him a call.
