Shots taken on the K5 with the Pentax 55-300 ED and most of them are cropped as I was on the edge of quite a large arena. Lighting was very kind on the day so they came out quite well but I've spent so long looking at them now, I can't decide which I like best. I've narrowed it down to these and thought I'd ask you guys what you think?

You all know my thoughts on this.
I'm guessing perhaps something to do with photo manipulation ?

I recently visited a friend of mind in Rutland and during the afternoon he took me for a little tour of the area (I'd never been before). When driving through a small village he pointed out a particular tree that he liked and asked if I'd take a photograph of it sometime. When I left his house I went back to the village and took a few snaps, but it was crap weather and lighting conditions.
The first shot is how it came out of the camera, the second is... erm.. improved a little ( I added a nice sky I shot a few days later from my back garden). I'm constantly amazed by the detail you can pull back from K5 RAW files! I don't think it looks to unnatural but I'm new to this sort of manipulation so thought I'd see what you guys think.
My friend certainly didn't notice that the sky was fake, he just thought it was a great photograph of his favourite tree

Lets say I was suddenly to get a windfall of say 5-10K and lets say I'm gonna jack in my career in IT and launch into the world of professional photography shooting weddings and family portraits... Now, shouts of "are you mad" aside, and given the fact that I have a small, but not massive, investment in Pentax kit the question is :
A) Do I stay with Pentax and if so what would you reckon would constitute a professional kit bag of Pentax gear.
or....
B) Move to the dark side and consider Nikon / Canon (Thinking 5D mkIII or Nikon D3 territory)
I hasten to add, only really a pipe dream, but one should always have dreams

Just wanted to post a few pics from the Prom night preparations and thank you all again for the advice. It's the fist time I've done such a shoot and outside of the comfort of a Studio ! I took a flashgun (yongnou 560 Mkii) mounted on a light stand inside a soft box and shot in manual. The weather was crap (and garden a mess) so no scope for outdoor shots and the room I had to shoot in was very limiting in terms of the shots I could take.
I shot about 400 pics of which I gave 100 to the client, they were very happy with them and below are a few of my favourites:
