It's a different lens - mine is the 3.2 - 4.5 FA AL version and looks like it takes a bayonet hood. Thanks for the suggestion anyway

Does anyone know the model number of the lens hood for the 28-105 FA AL 3.2-4.5 and where I might be able to get one? I emailed Pentax about a month ago, but as usual, no reply.

The 28-105 f/3.2-4.5 is only 6, but supposedly a fine lens. The 43mm Ltd *is* a fine lens but I've never counted the blades. The M 50/1.7 has 6 if I remember, whereas the M 50/1.4 has 8. I think the M 40/2.8 has 5...

According to an article in the British Journal of Photography, "Pentax will launch the first of a series of new high-end digital cameras later this year".
They are also apparently continuing with the 645D and hope to show working examples at Photokina.

I had the Sigma 105mm EX and it was a great lens but I rarely used it so I traded it. As I recall, the DG version of this lens differed from the older EX version only in that it had an extra coating on the rear element. I used mine on an MZ-3 though so you might be better off with the DG. Nowadays if I need a macro, I use a reversing adaptor with a K 55/1.8 and a Nikkor AI 28/2.8.I see that the one that I can buy is the version introduced in 1998 which is the EX version of the Sigma lens. Now there is a new version called the DG version which according to the marketing blurb on the website optimized for use on digital camera's. Is a digital SLR more picky on lenses than a film SLR?

Hi,
I recently bought an LX winder but I'm not sure it's running at correct speed.
My LX is away being repaired at the moment so I can't test it properly, but when I switch it on, it winds for what looks like 1 frame length. However, this takes about 1 sec which doesn't suggest the 2fps I've read it's capable of.
Can anyone confirm this for me? Just switching it to C without a body attached should do it. Just making sure I haven't bought a dud...
