Let's hope they develop a camera with FULL-FRAME sensor and at least 1/250th sec flash synch. then I might consider getting digital.

Make tht a full-frame sensor with the same aspect ratio as a 645 camera, only smaller. Most portrait, magazine page, and other uses involve cropping off the sides of the image. In fact, there are screens (made for Canon cameras) that black out the sides of the frame!

Only note that they are planning "bargain" entry-level cameras. Where's the D2, the pro version of the series?

I can't see how that would work...

Surely, even on Canons , the focussing mirror is taken out of the picture when the mirror flips up....?

It's a compositional aid. You end up corpping off the edges, it's a guide to be more precise.

I had considered scoring the screens on my MX cameras to indicate the borders of an 8x10, so I could safely ignore the area out of the useful part.

Not MORE entry level SLRs! As if the *istD/DL/DS/DS2 variants were enough for entry levbel punters to be getting on with...

Hopefully they'll follow Canon's lead and do more full-frame SLRs with their proper viewfinders.
