Aperture Blades... 8

Having spent a good while whittling down my lenses, and trying others out, I have a set that I find excellent.
Funnily enough they all have eight aperture blades, and I don't think this is a coincidence. Here's the list:
  • DA 16-45
    FA 24-90
    FA 80-320
    F 100/f2.8 macro
    A 50/f1.4

Just wish I had appreciated the quality of Pentax glass (esp. bokeh, colour, and contrast) sooner

Now all I've got to try is one of the 9-bladed Limited lenses

The 28-105 f/3.2-4.5 is only 6, but supposedly a fine lens. The 43mm Ltd *is* a fine lens but I've never counted the blades. The M 50/1.7 has 6 if I remember, whereas the M 50/1.4 has 8. I think the M 40/2.8 has 5...

The M40 2.8 does indeed have five blades

The pentax K mount page

http://kmp.bdimitrov.de/

gves the number of aperture blades in its lens descriptions.

The Limited lenses do indeed have nine blades, and they are magnificent! They are also expensive! I have the 31 and the 77, I feel they're worth the price!
