You'd be amazed how many gifts I bought myself which only I knew about.
Fill in flash would have been a good idea. However, my wife took the picture. she had enough trouble to find the release button holding the camera vertical.
I am even surprised half my legs are not missing.

I ordered this Vest on Ebay and it arrived on the 23rd. When our children where little,We gave the presents on the evening on the 24th, that way we could sleep in on the 25th. Smart move.
This we kept up.
I got this west and went photographing today, The 28th with beautiful weather, 22Deg C.
The vest it just fantastic. With this 2 big pockets on the side, I could change lenses without the worry of dropping them.
I had 1 lens on the camera and 2 in one pocket. the other pocket was empty. This I used for putting the lens from the camera in an the take the other one out of the pocket. this worked like a charm.
i even was game to change lenses on a little bridge over a stream without filling my pants.
Best present I received for years. The vest and a bottle of Armagnac. (The vest is ok but the bloody bottle has a hole in it)
I wish you all a most fantastic New Year. We are having a forecast here in Melbourne of about +37deg C for New Years Eve.
Regards, Horst
The stream with the little bridge I stood on changing a lens.
The lens was my lovely Pentax DA 21 f3.2 LTD

This is my present. No laughing please

But a while ago, I had the experience of holding and shooting with this camera.
it is a gem. feels great in the hand. Very smooth and easy to operate and the images it produced where
just superb. At the same place, a professional photographer used it and printed the images on the spot on paper of about 30" by 30" and 30" by 40" (cropped). They where just outstanding.
If I had the money...........

I also think it gains a lot for being in b&W.
Why? Because to me it looks somewhat abstract and it isn't trying to look as part of a landscape.
In colour, I think the rocks would have distracted from the smooth , soft look you managed to give it.
It also has the varying lovely shades of white and gray all blending in to each other.
Great stuff.

Comment by Horst posted on A couple of long exposures, some cc would be gratefully received as it's not something i get to do very often, using ND 8 filter on a really dull day at 10/12/2015 - 12:27
But this guys work seems to consist of finding some not so attractive people and Collecting them.
To me it does not even come close to what i saw on this forum.
Also doing only B&W to me seems like trying to make it more arty then its is.
Of course he would be in magazines and getting awards, but this reminds me of the critics and art lovers in some galleries who consider a turd on a chair art and give prices for this.
Then What do I know.

the 8 element was to expensive to make and the back element stuck out further.
So Pentax redesigned the optics and came up with the 7 elements.
The advantage of the 8 element lens is that it is of course more rare and fetches a higher price.
