OK, purchased this lens in the second hand section of a now gone local camera shop in Orpington on a whim a few years back. Never really put it on my K10d until now. Just tried stalking my sleeping border terrier, Baxter, in the garden. Don't think it's particularly sharp, but quite good fun!
Must clean up the three back filters and try them.

Brian, I've yet to see s digitally processed visible light shot that looks truely convincing as IR. It similar to taking the RED channel & processing it to give you a full colour image.
The skies in your Pseudo infrared images are all very pale - typically IR skies are dark with highly contrasting clouds.
Thanks for info and comments. Think one problem was in quite a few of those shots they were taken in a very overcast Isle of Skye. Was a beautiful day when we arrived all those years ago, then about 4 hours later it clouded over and we had horizontal rain for most of the family holiday (in August!)
Just tried it on a very cloudy blue sky, but as mentioned, almost impossible to achieve, for me at least.
Just ordered the infrared filter, good price online

Hi,
Have been trying out in paintshop pro making some of my images into infrared ones digitally. Have put them all together into a slideshow in lightroom. Pictures were taken on various cameras, including a K10d, even some on a 3mb compact years and years ago! Just wondering about thoughts on them, it quite interests me. Will now probably be purchasing an infrared filter for my digital SLR.
Hope this is allowed, but here is link

Hi,
Has anyone bought new lenses off of Ebay, the prices from some sellers are very tempting, but sometimes in the feedback, it is claimed they are an import. Not sure if being 'an import' would make it any less of a Pentax lens

Cheers

Hi,
Have any members tried the freeware Picturenaut 3.2 HDR software? I downloaded it tonight, just briefly tried it tonight with 3 images taken in the front room, going to try it tomorrow in hopefully some good winter sun. Wonder if anyone has found it useful, considering it's free

Tried it out today at Whipsnade, few JPG shots here on my Flicr, all unedited/unprocessed and taken on my K10d body, almost all bar a few on 300mm end of zoom, effectively about 450mm. I see what you mean about the softness, never the less good fun!

Hi,
Has anyone had experience of using this lens on a digital body: Sigma 28 - 300mm Hyperzoom, F3.5 - 6.3? Got one off Ebay today which by all accounts is virtually brand new. Trying it out at Whipsnade Zoo tomorrow. Autofocus seems to search a lot at long end of zoom on initial impressions out in my garden today, although light was an issue today, due to the weather

Regards

Brian

Hi
Can anyone tell me if this lens is good optically, as have been offered one with very little use for £90. Obviously would be used primarily on my K10d body

Cheers

Brian
