For the past few days, long lines of code jump into my downloads folder when I type into the "Title" box on the Photo Uploads page. Does anyone know what is happening? Is this evidence of hacking of some sort?

I was miffed this morning to discover a commercial for Google Play residing in our Gallery. An older photo (sitting next to my pigeon/tulip image) of the front facade of the Art Gallery of Ontario) which I did NOT put there today, is mine, along with the EXIF , but the photographer's name is NOT mine. A long commercial text follows. How the heck did this happen? Site manager: what can be done about this blatant invasion of privacy?

Should also add that I've had very good success by moving the focussing ring, but only with certain lenses that feature a large and precise focus ring "range", allowing you to nudge out dozens and dozens of very small increments.

Also should say David's suggestion to allow a lot of room around subject was an eye-opener for me, since I have sometimes not only had degradation around the edges, but even lost parts of my subject as I moved into it because of the perspective distortion.

Thanks to all for your enlightening comments. I found David's suggestion to move the subject rather than the camera when using heavy lenses makes sense, and I will try it out. To this point, I have avoided using my large primes for macros because of the wobbly factor. But David, I wish you hadn't given me that link to that El Cheapo, $35 table. Ruined my day for overspending by $100 for basically the same thing. LOL!!!

Yes, thank you. Indeed it would be more stable, and a shorter screw is now on my shopping list. Also, since taking the photograph, I have added a washer and another nut tightened onto the bed's surface, which has strengthened the connection considerably.

I thought some users would be interested in the macro tabletop setup I created. The focus rail is actually manufactured for precision drilling and the like. It's a PROXXON K70 Microcoordinate Table, and at $135, vastly cheaper than high end purpose built tables. It is incredibly precise, moves in both X & Y axes, and comes with several small parts, but you need only two of them: the 1.5 inch headless screw, and the accompanying thin square nut. You simply slide the nut into the center groove, and turn the screw into it. I used a heavy-duty clamp to hold the assembly on the table, and it is rock solid, earthquake-proof. The ballhead is the one I formerly used on my Sirui tripod, and it comes with Arca fitting. I have an L-bracket on my Pentax KS-2, so I can mount the camera quickly, either vertically or horizontally. The "post" screw has a very
slight play in it, but doesn't move unless you push against the camera, which you never actually touch. GO 4IT.

Thanks for this explanation JAK. I never realized copyright info could affect the other items. But again, my copyright presets began being inserted into my metadata about eight weeks ago, whereas the same problem has existed for more than one year. So copyright preset could not have been causing my year-long problem. Or, to be "ad absurdum", my recent problem may have been caused by copyright, but my year-long problem, though identical, was caused by another problem entirely, until, one day recently, that cause became inoperative and the copyright cause became operative. LOL

On the topic of missing camera/make info on PU, I must say that I very much doubt my copyright preset was or is the cause of the Exif showing only part of "RICHOH IMAGING COMPANY, LTD.", and none of the camera model, because this has been my problem for over a year now, whereas I started adding copyright info only about 8 weeks ago. As of two days ago, I do not have any copyright metadata (preset) in my system, but a couple of images I posted after removing my correctly-worded copyright preset show only "N/A" for the make/model. Further, it does not make sense, to me at least, that copyright presets should cause trouble with the make/model data in any case. But I leave it in your capable hands to get to the bottom of this problem. I have scoured three photography books trying to make sure all my Import and Export dialogue boxes are in order, and cannot find any fault in them. But I leave it in your capable hands to get to the bottom of this problem Rick. I realize I am one of only a few people experiencing this, and you must have many other issues on your plate to deal with.
