Apparently the judge (and others who posted above) fail to see my problem. When Mag and David and John all indicate that their understanding of the brief is that we are to pick an actual film then find an image to match, then the judge says "Which is what I thought I'd said", an impartial observer from Mars would say: "Despite the fact that the judge explicitly states in his brief 'The Title can be the Title of an actual Film or made up Title', do not, repeat do not, submit a image with a made up title because it is obvious the judge and three others expects actual movie titles."

What I am saying is some hapless soul who submits the most brilliant photo of the lot will very likely have it dismissed out of hand as not following the brief if its title is a made up movie title, because in fact the judge really really really didn't mean what he plainly said in his brief.

Some time ago I sent a private letter to IBerg suggesting he make a post in the Forum reminding people to make sure their briefs are crystal clear. Who wants hard feelings over a simple little friendly competition, after all? IBerg suggested I post a Forum message to that effect. I now have an opportunity to make my point. The present competition is a perfect example of a brief that can lead to confusion and misunderstanding.

I am still not clear on your brief. Are you saying you want us to chose an existing film that has been released to the world, then shoot an image for that film that would serve as an advertisement for it? Or are you saying you can do that or alternatively dream up a non-existent movie and shoot an ad for that? I am clear on your wishes regarding the titles of our submitted photos; it is the films you have in mind that I am not clear on.

While I'm here, I should amend a comment I made (above) about incorrect (or crazy) shutter speeds produced by Pentax User. A lot of them read like this:
50000/875000, but many of them are correct, say 1/40. I had implied ALL shutter speeds were Gonzo, which isn't a fact.

Well I see your point but I'd much rather ALL of our fellow members got their data to show up, and I refuse to believe PU can't fix the problem. John Riley, if he sees this, can hopefully see that it gets fixed, because I believe it was his intervention that sparked a fix re the lack of camera make and model (which now works for everyone.).

Appreciate your information, but the lens and shutter info is in my image when it hits Pentax User. ( I use LR 6). ALL the EXIF info is retained in the images I post to PU. The problem is with the PU site because everyone without exception has the same two problems I cited in my post.

The person who recently fixed EXIF so brilliantly would be doing everyone a big favour if he (she?) could fix the problems of 1) shutter speeds--they show now, but in really scary huge fractions; and 2) lens info doesn't show at all.

Marvellous set of images David. I have never tried to photograph butterflies or birds, but will shortly receive a long-range Tamron lens, and plan to go butterfly hunting. Any tips or secrets to doing so successfully? Even though I live in a big city, there are plenty of places where they can be found.

Fishbones: thank you for your post. The problem can't be that I'm posting too much. LOL: I can't post ANY but the three I posted months ago. Also, cannot be that my files too small---if anything, they are too big. Lightroom 6 exports the jpegs I post on PUser, and those 3 were accepted, so that is another reason file size not the issue. Don't know anything about PPG's slackness re the K-1; I use KS-2. I sympathize with you and Peter on that score. I shall try to contact PPG's Support.

Hello Tony. Format is jpeg, of same size as posts to Pentax User. They have accepted my Safari browser in the past, so I don't imagine that is the problem. The frustrating part is the rejections come with no explanation, simply "File Rejected" or "Upload Failed "

Are your posts to PPG same as to PU?
