Strange Text Files --- Is This an Instance of Malware?

For the past few days, long lines of code jump into my downloads folder when I type into the "Title" box on the Photo Uploads page. Does anyone know what is happening? Is this evidence of hacking of some sort?

The thing to do in instances like this is to make a report to IT. The report button is at the bottom of every page on the site.

I'll do it for you now.
Best regards, John

Hi go4IT,

I've emailed you direct to try and help identify the issue.

All the best,

I was encountering it with some other websites, too, so it isn't a specific Pentaxuser issue. As far as I could tell from the filename in the Firefox 'What do you want to do with this file?' request, the files seem to be something to do with Google ads. Perhaps something was going wrong at their end?

Have tou tried looking for Malware?
Perhaps Malwarebytes, and/or ADWCleaner might be worth a try or something similar.
Perhaps even a rogue Firefox addon? Try FF in safe mode to test for that.

If it happens again can you get a screen grab?

Not at the time, but I didn't download the file when asked. It happened for a short while on 2 computers, one W8.1 the other W10, then stopped. All working OK since then, routine scans have been run (including ADWCleaner) and no sign of malware.

stopped using google on Firefox as i kept getting a blank page that could not be closed come up when closing down a search to start another. Gone over to Bing and no problems with that.
