You could try smallparts.com or alternatively give your local locksmith a ring - those tiny springs are their bread and butter.

Some nice shots there - I like the sixth (final photo in the first post) and the last one the best, neither would look out of place in a brochure

Me too!

I'm cheap but I don't think I'm quite in that league!

I concur! A lot of people don't like the DIY route and if I were a pro then I'd probably buy something like these just to stop my customers giving my cardboard contraptions funny looks...

The camera isn't actually all that old; the DC303K was only launched in 2005 and is still a current model! Phenix are the world's largest manufacturer of manual SLR cameras (it goes without saying that they're Chinese) and I'd expect quality to be on a par with other Chinese manufacturers like Seagull. I've got a Seagull angle finder and it's very good (Seagull also make Kodak digital cameras including their "Schneider" lenses under contract so they're no fools).
How do you know all this stuff, I'm always amazed?

The stuff about Phenix was via the wonder of Google (I confess I hadn't heard of them before but I just visited their web site and had a nose around - they make a silver 24/2.8 in K mount that would look like a good cosmetic match for my Limiteds ).

The stuff about Seagull I just remember reading in AP a few years ago when they were reviewing a Seagull TLR. It convinced me that the angle finder would be of more than acceptable quality and so it proved to be! Happy days!!

Like others have said, try the lens out and if it provides pleasing pictures then you have a bargain!

When you have don't forget to post some examples; there aren't many about and it's always interesting to see what these exotic lenses are capable of...

Much more professional looking than my cornflake-packet-and-duct-tape flash accessories, but they do the same job in the end. The gels could be useful though; I've been using sweet wrappers up until now (tins of Quality Street are back in the shops!) but they don't really balance properly with artificial lights so I only use them for special effects...

Most lenses will contain at least one tiny ball bearing (for the aperture ring click stops) which I guarantee will make a bid for freedom by heading for the nearest carpeted area - never to be seen again.
Ahhhhhhh, that explains a LOT
You are not alone I promise you! I'm a regular customer here.

You can usually get away with packets in 1mm and 1.5mm sizes, I've yet to come across a lens that doesn't use either one or the other.

I am glad that Photography is not my profession to put my creativity, my lust for life in to it by the amount and way others want it. There still are some lucky one who do photography for clients by the way (quality and content) he wants it.
It is my hobby where I am my boss. Where I have my own world. Where I can paint in 1/125 second. This is the hobby, where I can mix art I understand and love and science I read.
Where I do not have to perform by other's expectation, schedules, dates, qualities or contents. Where we are all friends to talk about our creation.
I completely agree! I think if I were a professional photographer I wouldn't enjoy it nearly as much as I do being an amateur. It's nice to have a hobby where you have nobody to please but yourself.

I like the first picture of the condensation on the car best personally.
