First Class

I went to my first photography class today and had a really great time. I learned a loose three-step method to identify light and capture it with the most interest. Maybe I have been using this method all along without really knowing it, but learning it today sortof "deconstructed" things for me, which I think will be a great help if I find myself having problems. He taught to identify what the light is doing in a scene from a distance, then move in closer to the strongest area of interest, then even closer to capture the best that you think the scene has to offer. I realize these are not the greatest pics, but they do illustrate what this guy was teaching us. It's a very practical exercise, IMO.

Interesting series of shots. To be honest, I'd have gone straight to the last one without really knowing why until now
