As others have pointed out; "no" is the answer.

You can make photos every bit as good as a K10/20D with your current camera (albeit at a slightly lower resolution), however, I do think the additional body-based buttons and controls on the 10/20 - together with a lack of scene modes - makes experimentation more likely than having things tucked away in menus. It's mainly by experimentation that your skills will develop.

Try setting your K100D to fully manual operation and leave it there for a week. Wander around the house/office/pub shooting anything that moves (or doesn't move) and then study your pictures on your computer along with their relative EXIF data. It's like stepping back in time 30 years but once you master the basics you'll find your understanding of how to take great photos comes on in leaps and bounds.

I have a flash bracket coming and would prefer some sort of wired solution but to be honest I am totally lost as to what I need.

Any advice would be appreciated.
How about this..?

I think - as there was no rule written - it's probably too late to do anything this week. It's not anybody's fault and the winner can't be expected to know what the agreement was.

Having said that, I do think we should have a rule added to cover future comps. This is a Pentax forum so it only seems fair the competition should be for Pentax pictures (with an allowance for Samsung-ites too)!

After re-reading the competition rules I notice we never have stated that images should be made with Pentax / Samsung equipment. I seem to recall we had an unwritten rule that any picture could be entered but only Pentax / Samsung ones would be eligible for winning; this week's winner was shot with a Fuji compact and (whilst a nice picture) shouldn't have been given a placing imho.

What do others think? It's possibly too late to change this one now but for future competitions should there be a clearer guideline set down?

Excellent macros Clarky - the little guy in the second one looks like he's used to posing for cameras.

I struggle to capture ants successfully, a shame as I find them one of the most fascinating of all the insects. Perhaps I should put out some sugar as bait next year..?

I couldn't have got that close to them!

Great shots though, especially #3 - love the eye detail.

John, there are two images exceeding the limit. The other one by a shocking 1 pixel! If we allow that the floodgates are opened
Whoops! That'll be mine!

Sorry folks, I promise never to let it happen again. I'll re-load it before deadline day...

So far, I have to say that I really like Galoot's - the strange bending of the columns caused by stitching together fisheye shots makes me think of some sort of giant insect rearing up above the viewer. I'm not so keen on the stained glass additions in the upper corners but I understand the retraints imposed by putting such a picture together. All in, it's my choice of number one to date...

Nice looking cars, always reminded me a bit of the Jaguar SS. Both had factories in Coventry around the same time so I guess industrial espionage can't be entirely ruled out...

You're looking for a USB A to USB Mini B cable - those on eBay etc that say they're suitable for Optios should work just fine.
