AFAIK this was a custom script written by the owners (of this site and ephotozine) rather than an off-the-shelf package.

When the new layout was first introduced earlier this year it was more than a little controversial to say the least (it generated a record-breaking thread with people wanting to move back to the old style) but I agree with you - now the shock has had several months to wear off I think it's rather neat too.

I too am always impressed with the results a fast lens and high ISO can give you. I know the K20D is a true star for high ISO noise levels but I'm more than happy to use results from the K10D at 800 and even 1600 - the noise looks quite natural and when printed at regular sizes is barely noticeable.

I use a cable release, it's 100% reliable and requires no batteries! Like Gwyn I bought a generic one ("for Canon") on eBay for around £4-5 IIRC.

The one I bought is 5m but as Matt says they can be easily extended and, unlike the wireless version, require no line of sight between you and the camera. I've used mine to set the camera up in the garden near the bird table and then (using a 10m extension) trail the cable through the kitchen window so I can take shots of the birds feeding while I do the washing up. Works a treat!

"There is a lamp inside a photography darkroom. When the darkroom door is closed, it is impossible to tell from outside the room whether or not the lamp is on. There are two switches outside the door of the darkroom. One or both of the switches may control the lamp. It also could be that neither of the switches control the lamp. All you know is that the light bulb is currently off and that the lamp and bulb are in working condition. The darkroom door is closed and once you open the door you cannot touch either of the switches. If you can only open the dark-room door one time, how can you tell which switches, if any, control the lamp?"
Is this going to be something obvious like, "Use the switch that's labelled Darkroom Light On/Off"?

Hello dgd - welcome to the forum.

You'll probably get a better response to equipment-related questions if you start a new thread in either the Lighting or Lenses sub-forums - there are plenty of experts on here who'll be happy to give you advice.

Yes, I was thinking of after the cashback has finished - also the current weakness of the pound means it's a good time to be selling things overseas. Clouds and silver linings and all that...

About what I thought it'd fetch - he didn't offer postage outside the EU after all and everyone's making hay while the cashback's on for the Pentax version. Finishing the auction so late on a school night wouldn't have helped either! Wait 'til January, reckon this will fetch nearer £450 if it's done right.

I've never seen a "D" but the "F" is tiny and there's a special slot to enable you to carry it within the K10/20's battery grip. I doubt there's any real difference though other than size - if you try a few remotes around your house you may find that you have others that will trigger your camera...
