I think people should post whatever they like to the Gallery. If someone's hobby is photographing birds then why not show off the fruits of their labours?

Personally I think (a) there aren't nearly enough insect shots as I could happily look through them all day, and (b) far too many dreary monotone landscapes that send me to sleee....zzzzzzzzz

Having said that I'd happily defend anyone's right to post more dreary monotone landscapes as I'm safe in the knowledge that nobody is forcing me to look at them.

Each to their own and all that!

Both!

I always work over a large cake tin so if anything drops out it'll get caught (if a 1mm ball bearing meets carpet you'll never see it again).

And you'll certainly need nimble fingers (and good tweezers) to get everything back into place. Tricky sometimes but certainly not impossible.

Only as far as the Post Office unfortunately.

Everything went to EU buyers this week except the slide copier (UK) and the 70-210 (Russia). I'd love to go on a tour visiting all my ex-kit one day...

Not that I've noticed on mine. Hairline crack in the viewfinder glass perhaps?

The Vivitar should be an easy fix; it just needs pulling apart and all the accumulated grit cleaned out of the helicoid by the sound of it. A little silicon grease, put it back together and voila!

I've got no personal use for it, but if nobody else wants to take it on then I'll save it from the bin!

I've got the Lensbaby 2.0 Hoover tube - funnily enough from SRS when they were selling them for £39

The quality is actually suprisingly good in the "sweet spot" and it's quite intuitive to use for snapshots. I think the ball-joint one would be much better for work where you actually have to slow down and think about things though; tripod work, macros, etc. I just figured that for the amount of use it'd get then under 40 quid was about what I wanted to pay...

Cosina sell Voigtlander Bessas in the same green in Japan and they seem to command good prices. Never did Leitz any harm either come to that; look how much olive green Leica M series fetch!
