Just grabbed this lens off fleabay. Being an M42 mount, I need the adapter. Ive seen and heard of issues with certain ones that prevents the lens from focusing to infinity, so I need to make sure I get the right one. Has anyone got one that allows the lens to focus correctly and if so, where did you get it from.

Cheers
D

I have both of these. I cant separate them. I guess I wasted the money on the Pentax thinking it was going to be better. In saying that, the 18-55 is a great kit lens. Better than anything Canon or Nikkor can produce.

Glyn, I have used the 18-250 and its an ok lens for is versatility. It does suffer from CA but its surprisingly sharp for a mega zoom.

A buddy of mine gave me a 8gb lexar to try out and it failed within 20mins. About 50 images gone. No reader can read it. I try to stick to smaller cards anyway. I'd rather have 600 photos on 4 cards than 600 on 1. I love the ExtremeIII 4gb. I need to get a few more. I guess its luck of the draw though isnt it.

Yeah, the hand rail bothered me to and I cropped some of it out but I had to leave a little. Its not HDR. It was very close to being full dark but the long exposure pulled in the faint glow left from the sunset. Thanks again for looking.

Here is a shot I took from under the bridge this time. I took photos for 30mins continuously til the light was just right. In fact, it was almost pitch black. I have a lens correction version, but I like this one better. CC

Its an underated lens. Far better than any Nikon or Canon kit lens. Ive been flamed for that comment before. I guess the truth hurts.

Its a joy to use. SO smooth and quiet. And even wide open, the one I have used was super sharp.

Nice shot HeavyD, But tell me how you managed to get your camera up there. I was up there recently and wasn't even allowed to carry a toothpick
This is not the Bridge Climb. This is the Pylon. 2 totally different tours. In fact, the Pylon is not really a tour. It costs less than $10 and you can hang up there as long as you want. How I would have loved to take a camera on the bridge climb.

Thanks guys. I use The Gimp. Its mainly levels, contrast, and a tiny bit of saturation. The sky was pretty much blown so I used a grad filter to bring it back.
