Out of interest I checked using my K200D and got this

As the IR transmitter in the control isn't visible with the K200D does this mean the camera has a built in IR filter?

I will give your recommendation of the D FA100 and M50 a shot, it should be interesting
I look forward to some more excellent macro shots from Oz.

Which just goes to show how different people use cameras differently. If I want to tweak the AF position provided half pressure is kept on the shutter release then the lens can be manually focused and the shutter released.
So you AF using ths shutter release, it locks into position and then you adjust as you wish by using the MF ring.
You learn something new everyday!

Check the light seals! they may need replacing. The light trap around the rear goes sticky and stops working.
The ME Super is a favourite of a lot of film users on here, run a film through it and enjoy.

It looks as though we all see different results and want to adjust to our own personal taste.
I don't use PS, much, but it looks as though I'm not alone. What I need to do is learn to adjust contrast/colour so my pictures appeal to a wider (not just me!) audience.
Not all my shots need looking at with a view to manipulation, just some.

Trying one out will be cheap enough.
Film isn't good one day (the expiry date) and then no good the day after, it's a gradual deterioration and the date on the box is the date the manufacturer takes resposibility up to. After that, the film may be fine, depending on how it has been stored. Or not as the case may be.
But definitely worth a try - I've used plenty of out of date films older than the ones you have.
I always try a known film in a new body and an unknown film in a known body.
I would suggest trying a Boots ASA 400, as suggested by Peter. Then when the bug has you, try the other films

From the wing venation, I think it's more likely to be an ichneumon wasp (poss. Pimpla hypochondriaca). Completely harmless (to us) and parasitises moth larvae which are around at the moment.

What about 'pocket' cameras, only my new Panasonic Lumix shows the IR brightly, as does my old Sony DSC-U20. Does this mean the filter type is the same as the K110d? :
I'm only interested out of curiosity!
Just found my daughter's Nikon Coolpix E5600 sees the IR as well.
