I only came to the MX party last year and I have to say I'm very pleased I did! Lovely camera to use and there's something about all-mechanical designs that inspires faith in their longevity, like a well-made Swiss watch
Yes, I viewed one last weekend, and it is a very attractive item.

However, the aesthetic condition of the particular example on offer was somewhat below average, and I will just have to wait until a better one comes along.

There was, however, an ME Super though....

(It's all in the journey?)
I didn't wait for a mint example, in fact my MXs are both battle scarred but still very usable. If it works and the price is right just go for it!

If you want a minter then be prepared to wait and probably pay through the nose.

In the mean time enjoy your MES, I presume you did buy it?

Dave, that's a great way to learn French.
If you want to learn German would you then do it with some beer?
Yes, and good local German wine!

We're visiting a small guest house in the Middle Rhine region again this year, trouble is they speak good English so things deteriorate after a bottle or two.

I've tried Swedish with homebrew in Falkenberg, Can't remember much from that apart from a great evening with really good friends.

Now now Terry, that's another thread.

As for which lens?

I haven't a clue.

The MX does trump all others in the sheer pleasure-of-use stakes though.
It certainly does!

No problem here with glasses either, the ones on my face don't seem to scratch on the MX view finder. Or any other for that matter.

The one on the desk is empty and just about to be refilled!

They flew out of Leeds Bradford Airport for a while, we live near the flight path.

The noise was fantastic and what a sight to see as the Speedbird climbed into the blue.

So sad BA had no foresight.

I learnt most of my French drinking good wine in France with, well, French people.

After the umpteenth bottle we were all speaking Franglais though!

Bring on the holidays and a trip across the water...

Blimey Stefan you have it hard in Holland!

Now I know why you Dutch are so good at foreign languages, over here in the UK we were lucky to be taught French as a second language.

Modern schools seem to skip anything but English until students are 10 or 11 years old, then it's too late to learn them easily!

Mais je prefere Francais pour une deuxieme langue.

But I do tend to speak it better than I can type it, and my spell checker is only in English.

but here in Québec, I see too many young adults flipping burgers at McD.
Is that because the sum total English taught is

"Do you want fries with that?"

I suffer from bad spelling, my spell checker is standing next to me right now pointing out my deficiencies.

Bless her!
