Interesting, in press reviews the canon's seem to ALWAYS have the better screen!

Although the 350D is an old model now, the 1DMk3 and 40D are current.

AP complain that the K200/K20/K10 have 'poor' LCDs. They obviously live in a different world, that or are getting choice products from canon!

I am a bit wary of using my household insurance as the last time I made a claim they put my premiums up and I expect I ended up paying for the value of the claim over the next few years!!

Seriously,
I expect they will only value the K100D at £300 anyway.

I am now thinking that if I get £300 from then and then put £300 of my own money towards a K20 then I have upgraded to a K20 for only £300
If they do that change insurer!

I claimed for a cooked computer several years ago and had no increase in policy charge.

As for only £300, check your policy, has it a new for old clause?

If so the replacement for the K100d is currently the K20d. The K-m is an entry level model, the K100d isn't(wasn't).

Just go into the menus, enable 'allow aperture ring', find 'catch in focus' and enable that too and start using your 'A' lenses.

The lenses you have with an 'A' setting are post 1985, anything prior to this won't have an 'A' setting.

When set to 'A' the aperture can be set by the body, as you would with the standard 18-55 lens.

Hope that helps, if not Hefty'll be along soon.

He knows.

A set of classic shots, well done Mike.

The one that stands out for me is #7, really unusual take with the lighting angle making this the pick of the set for me.

Do some research first as Ebay prices can be OTT on the 35mm and 50 mm ones.

I was lucky, mine came from my pre digital days using Zenits.

So you've discovered Carl Zeiss, now you'll want a 35mm one as well.

The 135 is good as your shots show, but I prefer my 35mm f2.4 Flecktogon.

Together with a 50mm this was a standard set in 35mm film days, then came the zooms...

I still use mine from time to time, it brings back memories.

Startling colours and well captured.

A different view from your usual B&W shots.
