Shutter delay on my E50 is 'acceptable', which means you have a short lag in poor light and virtually none in good light, unlike my Panasonic which takes for ever to lock on(even using flash!!!).

Compared to My DSLR it's not that bad.

Just a little off topic But I have an A version of the 200mm f4 in mint condition, What do you reckon its worth, I have never seen another to compare it with.

I also have an A version of the 100mm f2.8 Just curious
Worth?

Lots!!!

Back to the OP, don't be conned by the 'rare' 40mm. They're not, just over priced because they're slim.

I had one and got rid, preferring my 50mmf1.7 which was sharper and easier to focus (bigger focus ring)

Alternatives to what you have could be the 'A' lenses, but only to set aperture from the body. Image results are the same.

I recently bought a Tamron 18-200 after reading several reviews.

In the real world the lens was producing fringing around objects, focussing slowly and needing higher ISO than a Sigma equivalent.

Suffice to say I'm not happy and it's been returned to be sorted.

So, yes John is right, loads of shots and compare, if your not happy return it for a replacement/service under warranty/refund. Not all lenses are perfect, like anything there's always the occasional duff one.

Doesn't look like it's a Pentax mount though!

i agree with Jackitec on this one.

The Optio 'W' series are water resistant and produce decent results.

Best tip?

Don't drop anything!

I bounced a lens a few weeks back and broke the front element!

Wont be doing that again in a hurry, good job it was a redundant lens!

As John mentions, digital lenses can vignette. The plus side is you can usually see it in the view finder.

I carried out an experiment with my standard 18-55 digital lens on a P30 body, thread here, and was happy with the results. There are samples at the end of the thread.
