too late to advise, as you've bought it but thoroughly recommended - had one last summer and very happy with it. Few samples -

When I returned to Pentax with my lovely new K-5 I really wanted to get another Tamron 70-200 but could'nt run to one. Now I've managed to buy a second hand one at a good price I need to,regretfully, sell these two lenses to help pay for it!

1. 50-200mm wr - bought second hand 3rd April from SRS so has almost 5 months warranty. Caps/Hood in original box - looks and feels just about as new and a useful lens for the current weather! £110.00 plus £5 RMSD

2. 55-300mm DA - metal mount version with both caps/hood/pouch in original box - bought in mint condition from a forum member about three weeks ago.
£210 plus £5 RMSD

Will upload a couple of pics later. pm if interested.

And the K-5 is still cheaper than the D7000! Nikon packed a lot into the D7000 but somehow, especially after using a K-5, it did'nt quite do it for me. The first one had to go back as it backfocused every lens [I've never had that sort of problem before and usually try to leave well alone, but trying to get the adjustment right was a nightmare]. Second one was OK but again, I never quite trusted the 'improved' focus system - I'm sure it was me but just was'nt happy. Picking up and using my new K-5 was like welcoming back an old friend - for me this is the best DSLR body ever [others I'm sure will disagree!!]. Surprised at how good the 50-200 is too.

WOW - this is the first time I've ever bought at the right time!! As a long time Nikon user I bought a K-5 at the end of 2010 and had a happy year with it before returning to Nikon as I could'nt get the right longer lens I wanted. Hated the D7000 and ended up with a second hand D300 and little D3100. The D300 just got too big and heavy and the budget Nikons are nice but fiddly...and I loved my K-5. So this week I put my Nikon stuff on ebay and bought a nice new K-5 with 18-55wr and second hand 50-200wr....must have missed the price rise by a day!

Having used a K-5 for nearly a year before selling my Pentax stuff on here, I returned to Nikon - I just could'nt get the lens I wanted in Pentax fit. I've got no particular affinity to a brand having used all of them [except Sony]. So I bought a D7000 which feels like a souped up D90. Unfortunately I got one of those faulty ones that backfocuses - three lenses needed fine tuning to between -15/-20 - oh, and there were times when it did'nt seem to want to focus at all so it went back. The one thing I was happy with was the af speed with a Tamron 70-300 usd! Unless you have my specific need for a speedy quiet 300mm zoom then for me the K-5 beats the D7000 in most respects and is the one I'd recommend. The K-5 has a better body and feels like a real 'photographers' camera somehow - no gimmicks. Lots of people rave about the D7000 but to be honest I did'nt find it massively better than the D90 - I've swapped it for one of those for the time being. And if you want to see 'fanboyism' just check out dpreview threads about faulty D7000s - basically there's no such thing - only user error. Strangely, when I put my lenses onto a D90 they no longer backfocused......
