Thanks for that, Ive read some really mixed reviews but srs had a good offer on ebay so I am going to give it a try. The quietness of the hsm really appeals so we will see, I can't find much about it though or many photos taken with it. jacqui.

Hi Jacqui,
which camera do you currently have? If it's a K100D/K110D or earlier, hsm/sdm will not work and you will have a manual focus lens. K100D super, K10D (with firmware update 1.30 if I'm not mistaken), K200d and newer are OK.

Well, I received my lens today and tried it out a bit in the garden. So far quite impressed, fully zoomed I expected really soft but, actually, not bad at all, it seems quite sharp to me, compared quite well to the tamron 70-300mm (although the one I bought did seem to have a problem and was particularly soft, even after adjusting fine focus on camera, so I sent it back) and the hsm is so nice and quiet. Didn't have much time to test it out before the light went but, hopefully will get a few breaks in between rain tomorrow

too late to advise, as you've bought it but thoroughly recommended - had one last summer and very happy with it. Few samples -

Hi, maybe too late too advise on buying, but good to see some photos from it as I haven't had much of a chance to try it out properly yet, rain all day here, so thanks for that and great photos too, good to see what this lens is capable of and that I have done the right thing Really love the quiet operation of this lens, a real pleasure to use, and your photos confirm that it can really produce some great stuff, thanks

Hi, I think the k200d is a great camera, and I haven't had the k20d that long to really see what it's made of, but, I have to say, I just love the k20d, the whole feel of it, the extras, dials etc. Just personal feeling I guess but just feels really good. Someone who has had the k20d a bit longer than me will probably be able to tell you more, but for me, I am definately glad that I changed to it.

yes more than, beautifully quiet and I expected it to be quite soft full zoom, but so far I havent really found this even at widest aperture, although I have only ever had budget zooms to compare, no primes or anything very expensive. Haven't had much time to play as it has rained non stop here since I got it but from what Ive seen am really happy with it and the hsm is a dream to use
