Hi,
My thoughts,
You refer to your trusty A50, have you de-selected the aperture ring from the "A" setting and manually pre-set the f number you want to use. Are you using the cable release to shut down the aperture before pressing the green button to set the exposure. I use the "M" mode.

I would like to say thanks to all, you've set my mind at rest, I thought that I was abnormal with six film bodies.

I have decided that I only want to keep the K1000 and ME Super bodies.

I think you also have to have a very good eye for the photo opportunity and the ability to make it magical.

At last I'm progressing towards thinking about taking pictures and not being obsessive about equipment. Is this a stage many people go through.?

Hi Niel,

At the time I wondered if I would ever meet the "Guilty Party" on the forum as he was obviously a Pentax enthusiast and must be aware of this Forum. However all is forgiven as I found another one here in SA.

Enjoy the lens,
Greg

Steve,

I bought Eclipse 2 and a sensor cleaner kit from Outdoor photo, I have not used it yet but need to do so shortly.

Thanks John,

That explanation is pretty much what I expected, things have really changed if you compare what they had to resort to for the Tamron 21mm compared to the 18-55mm kit lens of today which is even wider.

From a "touchy feely" aspect I prefer the Tamron but we won't go there.

Included in one of the job lot I bought, this lens was part of the packet, it intrigues me in that it has a huge domed object lens and if I compare it to my Pentax 28mm f2.8 it seem overkill. Can someone explain why there is such a big differance in their design.

I have posted some comparison photos on Flickr link
