Censor cleaning

I usually clean my censor myself using a Kinetronics Specgrabber. There is however a spot om my censor that I cannot remove. Our local Pentax workshop wants to rob me of R700.00 (about 70 pounds) to remove the spot. What should I do... or is there a product someone can recommend?

As long as the spot is removable and not physical damage, Eclipse 2 fluid and Pecpads should do it.

Pentax sell their own wet cleaning kit too.

You sure Peter, I thought pentax used those sticky things you press on your sensor?

I can add that Eclipse and Sensorswabs works fine for me.
The sticky thing, Pentax O-ICK1, is mainly for use when dust is not removable with Giottos rocket air blower or the vacuum way to do it.

I would recommend to Eclipse sensorswab after the sticky has been used.

I bought Eclipse 2 and a sensor cleaner kit from Outdoor photo, I have not used it yet but need to do so shortly.

After a lot of reading and flipping a coin I bought wipes from ebay and Eclipse fluid. With much trepidation I cleaned the sensor. It did say a single sweep which I tried and didn't manage. So three wipes later it was clean. The wipes seem to be glue applicators from primary school with a pec pad wrapped round and tied. The pec pad is fixed with double sided sticky tape. You could make them yourself but for the cost its too fiddly.

Don't use too much fluid. Would be my top tip.
Apparently slopping fluid can get between the low pass filter and the sensor.

Since cleaning I have been much more careful not to let dust anywhere near the sensor.

By the way last time I bought pec pads I saw a seller state categorically that pec pads were NOT suitable for sensor cleaning (they did sell sensor cleaning kits too). Also I saw another brand of safe wipes with bonded edges to stop tiny fibres from getting everywhere.

Only from personal experience I would recommend just using a 1 inch flat pure sable water colour brush. Make sure it is spotlessly clean and grease-free and just wipe the sensor a couple of times with the camera facing down.
Has worked perfectly for me, including removing some dust that has been on for over a year despite multiple attempts to use the shake feature (as far as I can tell, that feature simply doesn't do anything).
I didn't dare touch the thing after reading so many scare stories, I used to just use PhotoShop, but not anymore.
Feel free to point out the error of my ways. But I've done it twice now with 100 percent success, so I'm assuming it's OK.

Sticky, wet, but it is a Pentax product. My personal preference is actually the Arctic Butterfly from Visible Dust. Works every time for me . . . so far.

Yes it's stick so will only remove solids nothing fluid, you need fuilds for that.
I also use the Arctic Butterfly and I like it so far, never failed me yet.
