Hi thanks for all your help, I went to the SRS site and just ordered a K10d with the 18-55 lens for £248, and the camera has had only 8300 actuations, and has a 6 month warranty - I grabbed at it.

Hi I thought I posted thsi last night but I must not have clicked add topic. Anyway. I am buying my 19 year old daughter a camera, she is studying media at college and particularly enjoyed the photography element of the course. I have seeen a K10d, 4 years old, 27,000 actuations, with an 18-55mm kit lens. Spare batteries, boxed and all accesories. Described as very good condition. He wants £250 cash for it. Anybody care to venture an opinion as to if this is a good, fair deal? From what I can make it it seems to be but I'm not very up on secondhand camera prices. Also if I go to see it anything in particualr I should look out for?

Irfanview will work as well, you may need to install the latest plugins. Irfanview has to be the best and easiest photoviewer out ther, and its free.

I can see an 'Opteka Professional Wrist Grip Strap' on Amazon for £7.95 - asnyone know if this is worth it?

Hi - I like to walk along with my camera in my hand, ready to take a phtograph, but I worry that it can be knocked out of my hand in a crowd. So I end up with the supplied Pentax strap wrapped around my wrist as best I can, but it doesnt work very well, and frequently unravels and gets in the way, and can end up being more of a hazard. Are there any short straps available that loop around the wrist and secure the camera, without flapping around and looking ridiculous? I am looking at making one myself but saw this thread and thought I would pick some brains.

More info -
I am using 8gb cards, one is class 4 the other is class 6, the delay is the same with either card. I just measured it a bit more carefully and it is nearer four seconds, but not less.

I am sure that when I first got my K7 the Instant Review was pretty quick, like a second or so. Now though it is taking just about 5 seconds before I can see my shot. Is this normal? So am I misremembering? It is taking the same amount of time for a JPEG or RAW.

I have the movie aperture control set to fixed, but there must be an atuomatic gain feature thats working - can this be turned off?
