More info -
I am using 8gb cards, one is class 4 the other is class 6, the delay is the same with either card. I just measured it a bit more carefully and it is nearer four seconds, but not less.

Have you set the auto lens correction feature on maybe?

Sandisk 20MB/s K-7 raw+ mine is near instantaneous.
Same with a Transcend slow card, card doesn't seem to make a difference on a single shot.

You must have lens correction, chromatic aberration correction or shadow/highlight correction enabled. They all cause delay in instant review.
