Hi I thought I posted thsi last night but I must not have clicked add topic. Anyway. I am buying my 19 year old daughter a camera, she is studying media at college and particularly enjoyed the photography element of the course. I have seeen a K10d, 4 years old, 27,000 actuations, with an 18-55mm kit lens. Spare batteries, boxed and all accesories. Described as very good condition. He wants £250 cash for it. Anybody care to venture an opinion as to if this is a good, fair deal? From what I can make it it seems to be but I'm not very up on secondhand camera prices. Also if I go to see it anything in particualr I should look out for?

Many thanks
Graham

Little overpriced I would say .. £200 would be more like it considering the actuations. K10D sometimes has AF drift after fair use but can be sorted with a firmware hack.

I'd say £250 is probably fair (given it's boxed and has the extra batteries/lens), just not cheap. Sometimes they come up for less than that but I've also seen them sell on eBay for more. I'd offer £225 and see what he says.

I've had my K10D since new and it has quite a few more actuations on it. The only problems I've had were back focus issues (cured by delving into the debug menu in the firmware as Mike mentions above) and torn rubber on the eyecup (just bought a new eyecup from SRS). Other than that it still looks and works pretty much as new.

I've got a K10D which I'm about to put up for sale... no lens though. But I would expect to get rather less than that for it. If you might be interested pm me and I'll sort out details, actuations etc.

Hi, I too have a Pentax k10d with pentax 28-105 lens. Less than 15000 actuations, with two batteries and a charger. I am asking £ 250. Its working fine and don't have any issues. Its got a clean sensor. If interested, you can inspect the camera and buy. No guarantee as I am not a store seller. No returns too. I am selling due to upgrade to K-7. Pl pm if interested.

If this helps, I recently bought one from SRS, body only but mint and only 2250 snaps, boxed with manual software etc. I paid £250 but remember this includes a warranty - 12 months I think.

You could always look on SRS website and see what their K10D second hand prices are like then apply a reduction for private sale as opposed to dealer with warranty.

Hi thanks for all your help, I went to the SRS site and just ordered a K10d with the 18-55 lens for £248, and the camera has had only 8300 actuations, and has a 6 month warranty - I grabbed at it.

Cheers
Graham
