i have recently bough a tripod and head, i was going to go manfrotto but then i found the giottos mtl9351b and mh 5011 head for just £100, and i'm really happy with it.
It comes with another attachment so you can replace the centre column with a small adapter so you can get it right to the floor (about 3" off). the centre column can be set horizontal and vertical, well any angle actually you lock it to where you want it, also which i really like is the centre column lock, you can twist to unlock and the top of the tripod itself spins so you can fully lock the pan and tilt head, turn it to where you want it then lock the tripod again with a twist. Try and find a local stockist and have a look before you commit to anything else, really good for a very good price.

after reading everyones comments i decided to do a little test, (not much as i'm at work) i took the uv filter off my 50mm 1.7 to see if there were any diffences, a little sharper i think without seeing them on the pc, but the biggest thing was the focusing, i've always found it hard work getting that lens to focus, and found it quite slow in doing so, without the uv filter it was like a different lens, focussed really quick and easily.

IMO it would come out best out of those as i dont class it as entry level to be honest. i'd say entry-mid range if not mid, i think its only classed as entry as there is only that and the k-7 now, i'd put it inbetween the k-m and k-7 making it mid, but as the k-m is no longer produced i cant

(just my opinion)

Thanks colin, ouch there quite pricey, after seeing the video stefan posted i'm not quite so worried, and if mike dont use them on £300+ lens then i'm wondering what i'm concerned about to be honest as untill i can afford it my lenses dont touch that.
