Bit of a bittersweet moment for me today. I’ve had an absolute blast with Pentax, especially the K-1 and all the glass I’ve collected over the years. It’s been my trusty companion, capturing the very best of the British Isles in rain, wind, fog, or sunshine… nothing has stopped it in the past nine years!
That said, times change—and so does my eyesight Lately, I’ve found myself juggling two systems: Pentax for Landscapes/Astro, and Canon RF mirrorless for sports and action/video. After much procrastination (and a lot of wistful sighs at the thought of a new Pentax FF), I’ve decided it’s time to bring all my photography into the same ecosystem.
So, over the next week I’ll be putting some of my beloved kit up for sale—or possibly sending it off to MPB. If anyone here fancies a chance to give them a new home, I’ll post a proper classified list soon.
Thanks for all the memories, the advice, and for making this community such a welcoming place. Pentax will always have a special spot in my heart! And so will you guys. Whilst I dry my tears, here is a list of the main stuff....

Comment by GeoffMoore posted on WTB: Pentax K to Q-mount Adapter at 27/09/2025 - 09:59
The Q is limited to a maximum 2 sec exsposure when using a lens without a leaf shutter. The Offical adapter has a leaf shutter built in and the electronics allowing you then to extend the shutter to 30 Sec and bulb.

Nice work! Great result.
AMAZING !!!
Brilliant content, thank you for sharing and taking the time!
I really enjoyed that, many thanks for sharing!
I saw this yonks ago.... but still thoroughly enjoyed it
What gets me about this, is the f stop....
600 @ f6.3
So 600mm x2 x2 x4.65 ÷ 95mm equates to an f stop of 117!!!
To get an f stop below f5 would need an aperture of over 2200'ish mm
FYI, anything under f5 in the telescope world is classed as fast

Both are very good optically. But it's worth trying to get a lightly used 6 as it does have a record of failing fatally and unrepairably, which appears to be due to a tiny cable breaking after a lot of flexing. If you want to have some fun, get a K - Q adapter and put a high quality K mount lens on it. There's a thread link on the other forum devoted to how the Q series performs with adapted lenses.

In reply to you Gibis I generally prefer to manual focus, even with AF glass, so I have considered the possibility of swapping out the mount on some of the lenses and using them on my Canon system... hrmmm maybe
