On the k5, when in bulb mode you can select that first remote click opens the shutter, second closes it. You might be able do the same on a kr, you'd need to check the manual.

Aha, just tried it. With a DA* it does work when the camera is set to af, and the lens set to mf. I assume that means it'll work for any DA* lens, and maybe any other af lens with an mf switch - except maybe a tamron 90mm

I assume it works on the k5 with an autofocus lens if you switch the camera to manual focus, and / or flick the focus switch on the lens?

Is there much need for bridge cameras any more?
The price of compact cameras and DSLR cameras seems far closer than it ever used to be. Lenses seem to be available for almost every budget.
If you know enough about your photography to think you want a bridge camera, it's probably worth going straight for the DSLR - it will last you longer, as it will continue to be useful as your skill increases.

If you want to combine multiple similar shots into one, or want to make a montage of shots, it's useful too. Think a horse jumping over a fence or something like that.
If you let the exposure change between shots, it spoils the look.

I got some insurance with glover & howe. You don't need receipts, and used is fine. You tell them what it would cost to repair or replace, and they give you the money if the worst happens. Your premium is based on the total value of all the things you want to insure - and they'll cover your laptop too.

I'm guessing all the app does is tally the timestamp on your photos, with the relevant timed track data from the gps.
You can probably do that yourself with a gps enabled phone, and free tracking software.
If the app is only a couple of quid, sounds worth it to save you having to map the gps and exif data yourself - unless you're a software developer

Anyone seen any real reviews of the device?
Everything I can find is just a copy of the official press release. Surprising that there aren't units given out by pentax for review - seeing as it's supposed to go on sale in the next week or so...

That'll fit in my underwater housing with the k5. Should prove useful for mapping dive sites, at the surface at least.
