Thanks all,

From what I have seen of the example shots with each, I think I prefer the Sigma. That Eiffel tower shot with the fisheye looks ace, but for the amount of times I'd use it, the Sigma seems to be the obvious choice. In a perfect world I'd buy both, but alas I'm not that rich!

Thanks for the advice.

Hi all,

Not sure if this has been covered before. Basically I want a wide angle lens mainly for landscape photography. Does anyone have experience of either lens for this use?

Your help and advice greatly appreciated.

Thanks Tooks,

I find the Sigma can be a little soft at the long end occasionally anyway. I am currently saving for the Sigma 10mm-20mm, so £30 for a TC seems to be the way to go for now.

Just hope the shop still has the TC!

Hi,

Got the Sigma APO 70-300 lens which I am happy with. Saw a Kenko 1.5x AF teleconverter second hand for £30 and I am wondering whether it is worth a look for use with the Sigma.

Very tempted for £30!

Can anyone confirm whether this will work well?

Mmmm, Cornish pasties!

Stayed in Marhamchurch near Bude a few years back, I've had a longing for proper Cornish pasties since!

Not sure if I could manage 'The Beast' though!

Hi,

That is precisely what I am going to do. I currently have a K100D with a number of lenses and accessories and don't want to upgrade to the K10D equivalent until the new model comes out. I have read a few things about something happening next year, but as yet they are just rumours.

Kim, there was indeed another 360 in the window. I'm sure if you phone them they will sell it to you as it's not listed on their site.

Called into my local camera shop on Saturday morning to purchase the Pentax AF360FGZ flash for a bargain £100. Asking the owner why it was so cheap and whether he is planning to get more Pentax stock in, his reply went something like this...

"No, we don't tend to stock Pentax stuff, they have faded away. They have been bought out by Hoya and will probably just be swallowed by another larger company. We can get Pentax equipment in to order and can get the lenses as they are used by Samsung, who now make Pentax's cameras..."

I stood there bemused, replied okay and walked out. If that's what gets me a £200 flash for £100 in his shop, then fine by me!

I think an annual forum day out is required! Settle anyone?!

Just checked with the shop I mentioned before and their price for the Samsung SEF 36 PZF flashgun, which appears identical to the Pentax one is £139.99...is Pentax suddenly not as popular as Samsung...my head hurts!
