Received my copy of Practical photography in the post yesterday, the same advertisement appears in there and mentions CF. The advert, although having pentax.co.uk on it doesn't look like their usual advertisement design. Looks like they may have enlisted a third party advertising campaign company who don't know their stuff!

Well done all, these pictures seem to be getting better and better since the first comp.

I'm a big fan of B&W, but my eyes keep going round and round looking for something to focus on, the 3 trees in the middle distance could have potential?
Sorry if I made you feel dizzy Galoot! I have this framed on the wall in my hallway...maybe you're onto something there, most Friday nights when I come home I find that I fall into things on the way into the house...though whether this has something to do with alcohol I can't really say!

Broken tree - Goyt Valley, Peak District. Taken with P30 on colour film, scanned and converted to B&W in photoshop.

Nice pics, like the colours in the water on the second one. Though horizon a little too central. Also may just be me, but is the horizon straight on the first one? I always find myself doing that, I'm beginning to wonder if I have one leg longer than the other

I wasn't going to buy one anyway...if I can make it for less then I always do! Saves spending money that could be used for my LBA!!

Was thinking about making a DIY diffuser for the built in flash for this problem...something like an old semi opaque film canister with a rectangular hole cut into it to slide over the flash. Don't know if it would work, but worth a try.

Unless you can purchase something like this for the job???

Not this old chestnut again!

I work in an arts college that has a photography department, the computers in there are a mixture of PC's and Apple Macs. As far as I am concerned, there is no real discernable difference between using Photoshop on a Mac or a PC. To me it is down to personal preference, the arty types here do prefer Apple Macs, but when you ask them why, they are often stumped for a good answer.

If it were me, I'd probably go for a PC as you get a lot more for your hard earned cash! Though the Macs do look rather nice...

Love the pic overbeyond. Black and white old industrial photographs have to be my favourite. Was hoping to do a mini project over the summer in an old industrial town not far from where I live, but alas the weather has put and end to that for now!
