Hi Ted, regarding your email, I couldn't find the original pictures I posted, but found another I had taken at the time.
The problem I had was that the camera would not stop down the lens and discovered that a little spring arm had slipped of the "Yellow" part in the picture below.

The "Yellow" part here is shown in the faulty position. So if yours is like this, then you may have the same fault.

The red arrow shows the top part of the spring, the green arrow shows where the small spring arm hooks over, pulling the 'Yellow" part down to the correct position. The pink arrow shows where the small spring arm is now.

I manually pushed the 'Yellow' part down and using a hooked dental probe, pulled the spring arm over the lug indicated by the green arrow.

Hope that helps, p.s. ignore the dust.

Maybe I'm missing something, but both photo's have the same exposure values, 1/100 @ f11, so like 'Frankie' I would have expected the images to be similar as there doesn't appear to be an increase in light or dark parts in the scene.

Awaiting enlightenment.

John.

Sorry mate, I just think this a crackin' lens.

You know your needs better than me.

Hope you get the sale.

The A 50 and the FA 50 are both corkers, didn't mean to put anyone off buying it, quite the opposite.

You are aware that this will fit your older bodies as well.

It has the aperture ring, just take it off the 'A' setting.

Same glass structure as your A f1.4, but more options if you upgrade your camera.

Sell the 'A' keep the 'FA', far more options for you.

I have used the FA 50 on a ME, MX, Z1, DS digital, K10D and K7, wonderful lens.

A lot sharper than a donkey doing simultaneous equations, while sitting on a razor blade, trying to push melted butter up a porkupine's ass with a red-hot 15-gauge needle, unfortunately, the razor blade is vibrating in harmony with the prime numbers drawn in the National Lottery, so the chance of the donkey winning Britain Has Got Talent, works out higher than the f-no. 1.4 of the FA 50 divided by the chance to the power 3, of the wife making me a cup of tea before going work on a Monday morning.

Hope that helps

Ha, You are right, I remember reading a report about the Kawa 500 2-stroke that suggested that there was so much power that the frame woud flex under acceleration, and even bend in the corners. Of course that made us all want one !!!

I would love to take that original 750 out along the M9 from Edinburgh, I could probably make Perth before the cops caught me, it would be worth the points

p.s. and the smell of Castrol R would bring back a lot of memories

Only a couple more of the older stuff, Don, although the Kawasaki 750 triple 2-strokes aren't getting any younger, but they did make your arms longer trying to hold on !!!!

One or two from the The Scottish Motorcycle Show on the weekend of the 10th March.

All with the K7 and the Samyang 85mm or the Pentax 'fishy', you will know which are which.

Ah, there is a large Klingon Bird of Prey near The Enterprise, which is blocking the light from the front right. What you get is a reflection from the moon and some light flashing from a supernova in the Andromeda Galaxy to the far left.

Hope that puts things in perspective
