Maybe I'm wrong, but my understanding of HDR, would be to show light tones darkened and dark tones lightened, to give an even range, i.e. nothing too light and nothing too dark ?

I maybe totally wrong, but I thought that was what HDR was all about, could someone educate me ?

I used your picture to show what I thought HDR was all about ?

I'll delete it at your request

George is quite correct, as usual !

Scotch should be mixed 1:1 with water.

Tap water in the Highlands of Scotland is usually good enough, but elsewhere, I would recommend bottled spring water as George suggests.

I worked for 11 years in Scottish Malt Whisky distilleries, Glen Albyn, Glen Mhor and Royal Brackla, and spoke to many people about the ways to drink Malt Scotch.

The professional 'tasters' that would visit the 'stills would always mix the whisky with cold water, ( no ice ), as this would release the 'esters' within the alcohol and provide the user with the best experience.

I once stayed in a hotel on Islay, where the barman told me about an American tourist who bought the most expensive whisky in the bar at £100.00 a glass, and then said, " you better give the wife one, but put Coke in her's "

An old Customs and Excise Officer that was posted to one of the distilleries I worked at, told stories of mixing Scotch with some of the torpedo fuel from the submarine he commanded during WW2.

The same guy would also go fishing, but instead of a fishing-rod, he used a grenade.

I need some excitement in my life, so I'm going to start 'binge-drinking'.

I'll drink Fairy Liquid, that should keep the kids happy when I burp and fart.

What were we talking about, I seem to have lost the thread . . . . . . . .

Sorry, but a Rusty Nail is not Scottish

Mixing Scotch with Drambuie is just a waste, and was probably thought up by some 'Lowlander' that couldn't appreciate a good whisky.

Like the 'out-side' fork springs, and lack of knee-pads ?

Looks a bit like my old favourite, Phil Read

Had one of his replica helmets when I had a RD350 - many moons ago

( the RD350 could 'wheelie' in the first 4 gears if you were 'mental' )
