I thought I had decided on a Metz 50 AF-1 but then I came across the Yongnuo YN-560.
I will be mainly using for bounced flash / portraits on and off camera with a K-5.
Will the Yongnuo do what I want or would I be better with the Metz?
Are there any Yongnuo users on here? I guess it's mainly manual settings with this one.
All opinions/suggestions welcome
Thanks
Both are great flashes for what they offer - it all boils down to whether you need the auto functions of the Metz. The Yongnuo is fractionally larger and both have built-in diffusers and bounce. However if you are in a studio setting and (I assume) using manual flash then 2 or 3 Yongnuo units and a set of radio triggers would be an excellent set-up.

I have used LR3 and, as other say, very good and so easy to use.
Lots of mentions for Noise Ninja and Neat Image, both of which can produced very nice results. However, you should also look at Topaz DeNoise. I have not used this personally, but have seen some very good results attributed to Topaz DeNoise.
Japers45 - just download the trials of all of them and use your LR3 and then compare the results and which you find offers you the best interface/ease of use.

It would be better without the elephant's skull but still the clean multi-coloured ceiling juxta-postioned against the darker, chaotic, floor area is very appealing.
I've recently acquired AutopanoGiga and have to say it's a superb program for autostitching hand-held panos, though their less featured AutopanoPro is probably more than enough for most people's needs (including mine).
Nice job DCG.

Comment by Frogfish posted on Can anyone advise as to the quality of these two lenses please at 30/11/2011 - 15:16
AF Primes
DA 15mm F4 Limited - Have it and absolutely love it - one of my very favourite lenses.
DA 21mm F3.2 Limited - Just because it's so small and I could add it to a travel kit.
Sigma 30/1.4 - Have it and it is just a superb lens offering so many creative options.
FA 31mm F1.8 Limited - Just because
FA 43mm F1.9 Limited - Have it, love it.
DA* 55mm F1.4 - This one is growing on my 'would like list' - mainly for the f1.4 + WR.
FA 77mm F1.8 Limited - Torn on this one because of it's high PF issue but I love the sharpness and size.
Sigma 85mm F1.4 - Stunning reviews to date. This to going to replace my Zeiss 85/1.4
Sigma 150/2.8 macro - fantastic macro lens.
DA* 300mm F4 - Have it. Love it ! Fantastic WR lens. Ultra sharp.
Pentax AFA x1.7 - is there a better TC ? I don't think so unless you are intent on a full AF TC.
Zooms
I don't use them so much now except for work, but the Sigma 50-150 is always in my bag.
Fisheye. - Tried the DA 10-17mm but TBH I don't think they are for me.
DA 12-24mm F4 - Would replace my 10-20mm but since the Sigma is such a good lens this is not an imperative. Also tried the Sigma 8-16mm and ruled this one out too.
DA* 16-50mm F2.8 - to replace my Tamron 17-50/2.8 but only for the WR.
Sigma 50-150/2.8 - IMHO a bette lens than the DA* 50-135mm, fast HSM and very sharp, only missing the WR of the Pentax.
Pentax FA 80-200/2.8 - a match for any current fast sports lens.
DA* 60-250mm - Tried it and although not as good as the DA*300 it has flexibility on it's side and also the same WR of the *300.
FA* 250-600mm - Fantasy lens. One of the best bird / wildlife lenses in existence.
MF Lenses
Contax Zeiss 21/2.8 - Reputedly the best 21mm ever made. N o t C h e a p.
Zeiss 28/2.0 - Another very expensive lens. I have the 28/2.8 which is much cheaper but very very good. The 2.0 is better though.
Zeiss 35-70 f3.4 - Zeiss claim this is as sharp at each focal length as it's primes.
Cosina 55mm f1.2 - you buy a f1.2 for the f1.2. The Cosina is famous for it's most amazing bokeh at that FL.
Voigtlander 58mm/1.4 - great lens and another f1.4. I have the 50/1.8 but the 58 is another step up.
Contax Zeiss 100/2.0 - Another of the world's best lenses. Sigh !
Voigtlander 125 - THIS is the ultimate 1:1 Macro
I've excluded Leicas because even in a fantasy list they are still too expensive !

I have seen plenty of 10mm landscapes, and mostly I think they would be better as two photos stitched, whether done by an expert or a beginner. The proportions of the standard photo do not lend themselves to such wide angle landscapes imho. Interiors and cityscapes are another matter.
