I think this will do it for you Bernard, the free version of Diskaid (iPhone, iPad etc.) and it works on both Mac & PC :

As Ken (GARTMORE) said, you need to sync via iTunes. TBH, I think iPad is an over-rated, over-hyped toy, but my wife looooooves hers!! I prefer my laptop and.or netbook when out and about.
This is what I used to think before we actually got one (my wife and I use it in equal amounts). It's brilliant if you don't have GPS installed in your car and of course when walking / cycling etc.

It also goes with me when shooting as I don't want to be humping the laptop around and the iPad is so light and just slips into a side pocket of whatever camera bag I'm using for the day.

If you have an EyeFi in your camera you can then check your shots on the iPad out in the field too.

.... and that's just for starters

iPads don't have USB ports John.

There are various jailbreaks online if you are brave enough.
Do you have iTunes installed on the PC? You should be able to see the iPad with that I believe, but I am not certain.

Have a Google and see if there is a software solution you trust, start with the Apple forums perhaps.
However Apple do make an adapter (iPad to USB) or there are Chinese copies of it.

If you have another Apple computer you use for backups etc, then of course everything is done through iTunes. Not sure how it works with a PC because I don't have any !

Hi Stew. This link is from a very popular bird forum but they have an excellent digiscoping section too : link

Looks like the Skywatcher 80ED would be the one.

Great shot Roger - gotta love macro. Got myself some telescope objectives and a Pentax adapter .. haven't had time to get to work with them yet but your shot(s) are inspiring.

Interesting set .. I really like the chair and looking through the window shots. These actually look prime for playing around with HDR and/ or B&W !

Excellent B&W conversions - the Toucan shot is superb.

Great set, I especially like #1, 8 and 9. What is that weird instrument he's playing in #1? Could attract the anti-terrorist police in the wrong place!
Thank you AG - glad you enjoyed the set. I'm afraid I haven't been able to find out what the instrument is yet ... even my Chinese wife doesn't know !
