I was actually birding but this location wasn't that good at all - Bul Buls and one Pheasant was all I saw .. or heard .. over the course of an hour. There were however lots of Dragonflies and butterflies, many of which I hadn't seen before. Maybe you can help me identify them before I get my head stuck into the ID books ? I'm really interested in #4 as that short winged dragon I've definitely never had the pleasure of meeting previously !
Sorry about the quality of #10 but that is in here purely for ID purposes.
Thank you for looking and I appreciate any C&C that you proffer !

Appreciate your comments George and K10D !
No problem Hyram Just wish I knew what a J is !
Here it is again J-Class
Amazing you were able to get all those from the harbour wall. I thought you must have borrowed a Beken boat.

Nice set, I do like the crops ... number 2 especially.
As Hyram says, there does seem to be a little haze in them though.
I saw the race while living in Spain ( 2008 ), I had just got my first DSLR (K10D) and a Sigma 135-400mm lens. I had absolutely no idea what I was doing then (not so sure I do now) ... wish I could have another crack at it.
Maybe one day .....
Haze - see post above. In some ways it was good because it meant it made the high-rises far less visible and gave the yachts more of a 3D.
I really enjoyed this shoot and will definitely now try to track down more events.

Thanks Gary ! And also for my new excuse for #10 Actually it was inside the undergrowth - I saw it go in but couldn't get a flash on it, c'est la vie but it was the only one of that species I saw that day.
Thank you Blythman ... they do have the most amazing lattice-like wings.
Many thanks for your kind comments AG !
